Ginger (Zingiber officinale) is originally from Asia and has been used to fight diseases since ancient times. Sesquiterpenic hydrocarbons, such as zingiberene (35%), curcumene (18%), and farnesene (10%) are some of the substances found in ginger, which are responsible for its phytotherapic effects.
Gingerols, soagols and paradols are also found, in addition to the zingerone responsible for its characteristic pungent taste.
Studies have shown that ginger has therapeutic actions, with antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects.
