The active constituent of Eucaprol® Essential Oil is eucalyptol (1.8-cineole) which exerts a fluidizing, expectorant and antiseptic activity in the upper airways.
The expectorant activity of this medication is due to eucalyptol, which fluidifies mucus, making it less viscous and “looser”.
This way, the mucus can be expelled more easily, in addition to the reduced production of bronchial secretion.
Furthermore, when applied externally, eucalyptol has rubefacient action, relieving the discomfort resulting from rheumatic pain.
This medication is contraindicated for children under 12 years old.
Pregnant and lactating women should not use the product, since there are no studies that can guarantee safety in these situations.
The use of this product is contraindicated in patients with severe gastrointestinal and hepatic inflammatory diseases.
Patients with a history of hypersensitivity and allergy to any of the formula component.
Popularly known as eucalyptus, Eucalyptus globulus L is a species native to Australia and Tasmania that has adapted very well to virtually all tropical and subtropical regions, being widely distributed in South Africa, India, Southern Europe and Brazil.
Research has found evidence of its antimicrobial action against disease-causing bacteria in the upper respiratory tract, in addition to having antiseptic and fluidizing activity, helping reduce and expel mucus.
