According to the Brazilian Ministry of Health, there is no proven scientific evidence that this product prevents, treats, or cures any diseases
Popularly known as primrose, Oenothera biennis is native to North America, and its yellow flowers are widely used by native American Indians to prevent wound infections.
It contains gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), phytosterol, onerin, tannins, flavonic compounds, mucilages, palmitic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid, beta-sitosterol and citrostadiene in its composition.
The GLA present in the composition of Evening Primrose oil is part of the cell membrane structure, originating prostaglandin E1, a substance that helps balance female hormones, reducing the impacts of premenstrual syndrome (PMS).
Currently, the Evening Primrose oil has been considered a relevant herbal resource against PMS - disorder that affects about 90% of Brazilian women, causing sudden changes in mood and body aches.
